![]() ![]() ![]() When we had to stop or slow, my two boys shouted Battlestar Galactica comments, sounding like the robots form the old TV series, and sang Metallica riffs. You'd think a quick wash a cleaning, every month or so would pay off in customer satisfaction. ![]() The outside was also filthy, but who cares? My point is, man, show a little pride of ownership. To say it was dirty is an understatement. I went through half a roll of paper towels, and they were just about black with grime, food particles, dirt and other unidentifiable bits. It was so gross I Windexed the interior, seats, steering wheel, windows, etc., before I let my kids sit in it. I mean, the interior was like a coca-cola bomb went off, daily, for about a month. After signing away my rights, we sauntered to our rent-a-ride. Know what your regular insurance covers before you go in. Loads of insurance add-ons inflate the price. Where we rented from was nice enough, though I think I walked back in time to 1952. The site worked fine-the company, not so much. no reimbursement! I will never rent from BUDGET again and I would recommend that you don't either! A customer service rep named Geraldo told me he was going to have the truck serviced - I hoped he did! He also said he was going to reimburse me for my horrible experience. I told them that this truck should be removed from their fleet immediately because someone was going to die driving it. I also had to speak to customer service to make sure they knew how dangerous truck #******* was. The service rep was unable to log into the computer and I had to do a bunch of follow-ups just to make sure the truck was returned. I am surprised I didn't die from a crash or a heart attack! I returned the truck in Alabama and things did not get much better from there. I finally made it after a 14 plus hour drive. I had to drive 40-45mph just to make sure I did not crash on the highway! It was horrible. I am guessing there were issues with the struts, ball joints, sway bar links or all of the above. This truck had 180k miles on it! Anyways, as I started driving south, I noticed that the suspension was horrible! I was not able to control the vehicle very well when driving around left turns or over bumps. The first time, was when I got the truck and I had a Budget mechanic drive to my house to fix it. I started my trip down I-65, and I noticed the check engine light popped up for a second time. It cost me a fortune to rent this truck $1265. I only rated it one because zero was not an option! I rented truck #******* a couple of weeks ago to move furniture from Illinois to Alabama. ![]()
